 | In The News ... Yarrow Golf & Conference Resort, a MichianaGolf.com 5-Star Certified Course
Their name "Yarrow" -- derived from the wildflowers with an almost endless list of therapeutic medicinal properties that are found growing naturally on the property, and even their logo -- symbolizing determination; serve as mere hints to the amazing facility that one will find at the Yarrow Golf & Conference Resort.
Opening its doors in 1992, Yarrow initially had just nine guest rooms but has since expanded to forty-five guest rooms complete with all the amenities. Yarrow is an absolutely perfect location to relax and unwind with more than eight miles of trails through scenic forests, meadows and wetlands.
In 2001, a devastating storm hit the region with tornado-force winds that knocked down thousands of Yarrow's tress, forever changing the landscape. While the damage was severe, it began a new chapter for Yarrow.
Raymond Hearn, a Michigan native, was chosen to help write this new chapter in Yarrow's history by incorporating Yarrow's lay of the land and natural beauty into a remarkable new golf course. Hearn's masterpiece is a course that flows as naturally as the Augusta Creek, a spring fed trout stream, which meanders over the rolling terrain.
The world class Yarrow golf course is an 18-hole, par-72 with 7,005 yards, a 133 slope and 72.4 rating.
Essentially a Links-style course, the Yarrow golf course will remind you of the finest Northern Michigan golf courses. Each hole is a special challenge to your golfing skills. You will find 4 different cuts on these bent grass fairways, with numerous bunkers as well, and very spacious greens that are always immaculate.
If you ever wanted to treat yourself to a round at one of Michigan's finest courses, you must play Yarrow. Make an outing of it as well. Stay overnight at the lodge (with 14,000 square feet ... there's plenty of room to stretch out!) and enjoy a few meals at their first class restaurant.
You will definitely enjoy your visit to Yarrow and will surely make plans for a return visit. You may find yourself wondering aloud; "Why would I drive 100+ miles North to play golf when Yarrow is sooo close?"
General Manager Toby Hilton and his staff are eager to make your stay a memorable one.
