Warsaw is a city within, and the county seat of, Kosciusko County.
Cradled between Winona Lake, Pike Lake, Hidden Lake and Center Lake, Warsaw is nicknamed "Lake City," though other cities in the surrounding area are also referred to by that nickname.
Famous Warsaw natives and residents include Ambrose Bierce, author of The Devil's Dictionary; Theodore Dreiser, author of Sister Carrie and An American Tragedy — in 1935, his books were burned by the local library; Max Truex, Olympic long-distance runner; Rick Fox, former NBA basketball player; Bubba the Love Sponge, radio host, born Todd Clem; Adam Sanford, cricket player; Hal Kratzsch, an original member of famed singing group The Four Freshmen; Jill L. Long, United States Representative; Merlin Hull, United States Representative from Wisconsin; Dr. Steven Hollar, Hoosiers fame; Denny Hepler, winner of the "Big Break 6" on The Golf Channel and winner of many professional golf events.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.6 square miles, of which, 10.5 square miles of it is land and 1.1 square miles of it (9.26%) is water.

Winona Lake, Indiana, a little more ...
Winona Lake is a town in Wayne Township, Kosciusko County.
Winona Lake is best known for the lake it is named after and built on. It is also the home of Grace College and Theological Seminary and the home of former preacher and professional baseball player Billy Sunday. Christian musician and preacher Homer Rodeheaver made Winona Lake his home from 1912 until his death in 1955. The Winona School of Professional Photography was started there in 1912 (as the Indiana School of Photography) and was operated by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) until it's move to Chicago (Mount Prospect) in 1988. Famous photographers from around the world once came to Winona Lake to teach, and attend, classes during the summer months.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.2 square miles, of which, 2.9 square miles of it is land and 0.3 square miles of it (10.77%) is water.
