 | In The News ... Hidden Valley Golf Course
Want to play a par-3 that is affectionately referred to as the "Shortest par-5 in Michigan"? Then you'll need to play # 18 at the Hidden Valley Golf Course in Shelbyville, Michigan. After this crescendo of a hole, you will be thankful that the previous 17 only presented a "normal" challenge.
Hidden Valley Golf Course is a 5,980-yard, par-70 course that features "Bent" grass greens. Speaking of greens, your putter will be one of the most important clubs in your bag if you are going to score well at Hidden Valley. What the course might lack in length, it more than makes up with challenging greens.
Mike Mieres Jr., co-owner of Hidden Valley Golf Course, states that the course has a "unique combination of holes." He estimates that 60% of the holes are wide open with the remainder being "a bit on the tight side."
Mike Sr., Mike Jr., and Jennifer Mieres purchased Hidden Valley Golf Course in 2000, turning it into a family business. Mike Sr. has a lifetime of golf business experience under his belt, having honed his skills at several other Michigan courses. Mike Jr. studied Golf Management at Ferris State University, while Jennifer spent time on the "Mini Tour." Together, and not to mix our sports metaphors, but the Mieres family has all the bases covered with a course that is in absolutely picture-perfect condition.
The entire course is watered and is always in great shape thanks to Mike Jr.'s training at Ferris State University along with his very efficient grounds crew.
With the Mieres family at the helm, you can be assured of smooth sailing with confidence running high that regardless of the three tees you choose to play (White, Gold, or Red), you will have a thoroughly enjoyable experience!
